A Community Gathering
A community gathering for honest labeling, real standards, and your right to a body free of seed oils and endocrine disrupting additives that were never proven safe.
The problem
Industrial seed oils show up in nearly everything on the shelf, from bread to salad dressing to baby food.
Dyes and additives restricted or banned in other countries are still common on shelves in the United States, with little explanation.
Vague labels, catch-all terms, and undisclosed additives make it hard to know what you are actually eating.
What we want
Getting seed oils out of everyday staple foods.
Removing endocrine disrupting dyes and preservatives already restricted in other countries.
Clear, honest ingredient labeling, in plain language anyone can read.
The right to know what is in your food, by default and not by hunting.
How to take part
Read labels. Cook real food. Gather. Share what you learn. This is people choosing better together. Take Our Bodies Back is being set up to become the nonprofit arm of Mind and Mirror. Until that is official there are no dues and no donations, just the work.
Start here
One commitment: know what is in your food, and get the seed oils out where you can. Sign it and the swap guide below is yours to use and share.
The swap guide
You do not have to overhaul your kitchen in a day. Swap one thing at a time.
Instead of canola, soybean, corn, cottonseed, sunflower, safflower, or grapeseed oil: cook with butter, ghee, tallow, coconut oil, or olive oil.
Most bottled dressings are seed oil first, flavor second. Olive oil, vinegar or lemon, salt, and whatever herbs you have beat all of them.
Margarine and "buttery" spreads are seed oil products. Real butter is one ingredient.
"Vegetable oil" on a label almost always means seed oils. If the ingredient list needs a translator, put it back.
Chips and fried snacks ride in seed oil. Nuts, fruit, cheese, and anything you fry at home in real fat get you there instead.
Cook one meal a week from whole ingredients in real fat. Then two. The habit does the rest.
Learn
The industrial seed oils to watch for: canola (rapeseed), soybean, corn, cottonseed, sunflower, safflower, grapeseed, and rice bran.
Watch for synthetic dyes and preservatives that are restricted in other countries but still common here. If you would not add it in your own kitchen, question it.
Fermentation, whole food cooking, and kitchen skills, taught in person at the Food Workshops.
Fundraising
Teams of women who train together and race together, raising support and awareness for this movement with every start line. The first team is forming now. Dates and races to be announced.
